The Pinterest Diaries #4 PANTONE COTY Greenery

Alongside 'Living the Hygge life' coming back on to the blog I have also missed sharing my loves from Pinterest. This is also a big one for me as I have genuinely been working super hard to grow my pinterest by being very creative on it. The number of pages I am following has jumped massively as I have got a bit addicted to finding amazing bloggers, sharing their photos and what they love. I have also found women who just love pinning amazing things and have spent many days just looking through what everyone has to offer. I love seeing how people share ideas and finding people who think like me on there.
Recently I have been really interested in Pantone's colour of the year 2017 called 'Greenery'. I was so shocked it was a green shade. Genuinely I couldn't believe it. And there is no way I am pretending I like it, I would never use a green in my styling or home but seeing how green is being used in things has really opened my eyes to it. In fact, as a colour, I have gone from genuinely thinking it is awful to truly thinking that it is a fantastic shade, depending on how and where it is used. No Lie, Pinterest has converted and inspired me. It really has and I wanted to share a few things with you so that you could also see how it can be used.
For a full scope of all the pictures I have been pinning in my PANTONE board, check out and follow me on PINTEREST. Here are a few examples of uses of green that will convert the non-believers like me who simply can't understand why it would be classed as the colour of the year.

Something For Me!

I mentioned in a previous post that I have always loved Valentine's day and I think that I have been lucky enough to never be one who worries about getting or not getting a valentine. I know some people really hate the "Clinton" effect of it becoming a huge marketing affair where you can throw money at silly things, making grand gestures that just don't need to be made. Well, I honestly don't think like that, It is simply another reminder to tell loved ones how you feel and celebrate together as couples. Much like an anniversary, exchanging cards and gifts is obviously a welcome treat and I for one love a little present to unwrap (well I like that any time of year really)!

This year my Valentine's treat came early, and no joke, it really is a beautiful luxurious treat. For me, as I have grown up a bit I have definitely become accustomed to spending a bit more on a nicer product and if you can afford good quality materials like cashmere and leather, then it is worth purchasing.
When I saw the new season Cath Kidston products filtering onto the website I couldn't get over just how right they had got their colour ways for heading into spring. They have released some seriously stunning leather pieces that are the most perfect grey, blue and blush shade.

For me, pink always has a place in my heart and the pale blush shades really get my heart all a flutter. This small leather duo bag is an absolute perfect piece for an organised handbag lover. I used to only ever carry around a large handbag to fit all the stuff I used to cart around but as my handbag has more respectfully turned back into a "Just for me" bag I have downsized and really love it. It is actually almost easier with the kids as I just pop it on and forget about it. It never gets in the way and leaves my hands and hip totally free for carrying tots when they get tired.

What I love about this bag too is that CK have also brought out some fab Leather charms and this tassle one perfectly complements the shade of the bag. It is also really nice to touch which I love, fiddly, tactile things; ahh lovely!

If you are thinking about a present for yourself, maybe just point the right person in this direction, this may be a wonderful little buy to make your Valentine's gift a very special one indeed!

Frilled Shirts #Stealmystyle

I always think that tops are often the one thing I don't buy enough off, and by tops I mean blouses. You know just pretty ones you could wear day or night, in any season and they are just nice. I always end up in knits in the winter, so as you hope to head out of the cold weather I often just look at my wardrobe and don't know what to wear other than jumpers or stripes (also that is not a bad thing). But with new styles coming into shops, and finding colours that I really like, it seems that blues, whites and pinky shades have encaptured me and that is what I am most comfortable wearing.
That said, I just wanted to share a few links to some pretty blouses I have found recently that are all kinds of pretty and will be great for spring and summer!

Marks & Spencer are nailing it this season with very chic clothes. This pure cotton ruffle shirt is perfect with jeans and and will look amazing in spring/summer with white trousers!

This pink ruffle Vero Moda blouse will look great with all kinds of denim!

And this frill cuff Vero Moda shirt is another perfect example of easy tailoring to suit a range of outfits.

Finally This striped, off the shoulder Parallel Lines blouse has lovely tie frill sleeves.

I think these soft blues are great for spring/summer and go with most denims so with little flats you are always going to have a winning combo.

Swimmers Gonna Swim Ft. SUNUVA

Heading to paradise comes in many different forms. For us, an easy water-based holiday is all we need right now. With the kids being young, we find that our holidays are based around easy travel, doing something they will love and just spending time together. As much as I would love to be holidaying in villas in Greece or Italy, maybe I am just not brave enough to be travelling (well flying) with the kids yet. So for us, we base ourselves in this beautiful country and find we have not even touched the surface of the beautiful places to go here. In fact, each year I hope to explore a bit more and find new coastlines but there is always that wonderful comfort of heading somewhere you are already familiar with. No doubt Cornwall and Norfolk will once again feature this summer.
In the winter months we are pretty stuck here in Lincolnshire. No hills for climbing, no severe snowy weather, nothing that you could make a holiday out of, but as you head out into Robin Hood country we are lucky enough to have a little bit of paradise in the form of Center Parcs. We go each year as a big family holiday and it is always in January. It is freezing cold but due to the set up of the park their tropical swimming pool is in the centre and very much the centre of our holiday.
It's warm, there's water, plenty of room, food and drink and it wouldn't matter what the weather was; you are in a beautiful bubble that nothing can penetrate!
For us, obviously we have a nostalgic value attached to it; my parents took us there a lot when we were younger with our grandparents, and now they are the grandparents and so the cycle continues. For us it really is a brilliant five days.

The park has loads to offer for families which I am not going to talk about too much as we have our own little things we like to do, but every single day can be filled with activities for all.
Unfortunately, we do not exploit these activities like we should as we simply love being poolside. That is what our kids love the most. They play for hours, and with all the family there they can swap and change playmates all the time!

With spending so much time in the water we find that the kids get exhausted so our days our filled with points of rest and lots of food to keep us going. Life is good when we are there though and you really can just enjoy being away and lazing in a swimming costume all day!

This year the kids were asked to try out some amazing new swimwear from SUNUVA who specialise in making UV protection swimwear for children to help protect them more than ordinary swimsuits might. Their products are made with high quality UPF 50+ fabric which blocks out more than 97% of the suns harmful rays. OK, OK this wasn't going to be an issue on our indoor holiday in the middle of January but still, finding good quality swimwear is vitally important for us as we know the kind of holidaying we do and how much time is spent in water and sunshine.

For our kids, the fits, styles and colours were a huge success. They both loved their costumes and their coverups which came in handy for when they were ready to rest.

As you can see, the children are real water babies and their clothing kept them swimming and happy all week. I know these will be great to continue using in their weekly swimming lessons and into the summer when we get some warm weather.

If we weren't by the pool we were cycling, playing and just enjoying the outdoors whilst being wrapped up warm. Center Parcs gives us a perfect little retreat and helps us fly through January and miss most of the blues!!
