Alton Towers: Splash Landings

One of the things I am most pleased about ever spending on our children is paying for swimming lessons. They are quite possibly some of the most important skills you can give your children and seeing their hard work pay off makes them all the more worth it.
For over 2 years now we have been taking our children to swim with the Puddle Ducks franchise and I can't tell you enough how happy I am with their development, especially Raph's. Really, what we have paid for is our children having fantastic water confidence at a young age and for Raph, the ability to swim independently with no float devices.
It is on holidays, like our one to Alton Towers Splash Landings Waterpark where you can really see all the lessons paying off. Their happiness and ability to be in control of what they are doing really helps calm my nerves. Obviously there will never be a point when I will not be looking at them, making sure they are OK but just seeing them move cleverly and use the skills they have been taught really puts my mind at ease.

The Alton Towers Waterpark is a great venue for all children with all swimming abilities. As most of it is standable with no deep (adult height) water available it does make it much more of a play pool than a serious swimming one. The baby and full sized pool both have graduating edges which I love so that children from all ages can find a depth that they are comfortable with. This also makes it really good for children to develop confidence as they move deeper and deeper.

With clear, blue pools readily available for swimming and a lovely range of slides it is the giant Waterworks that end up getting most of our attention.
With water spraying here, there and everywhere, this giant climbing frame is a perfect place to run, chase and simply get wet in!

This is our 5th mini break to Alton Towers and the Waterpark; we try to do two each year and it only gets better and better as the kids get older and enjoy doing different things.

With summer coming up and lots of people heading out with children to pools and to the beach, it seems appropriate to just remind you to take care and always be watching your kids. Enjoy the water but respect it, that's what my family used to say, especially when we surfed in Cornwall, because if you respect the water it will always be good to you!
